2 adults, numerous dogs escape McCandless house fire

Crews battled a two-alarm fire at a home in McCandless on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019.

Firefighters rescued several dogs and two adults escaped from a house fire Sunday in McCandless.

The fire began at the home on Parkedge Drive just before 3:30 p.m., according to a 911 dispatcher.

Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV reported that multiple dogs were pulled from the house. A neighbor told the TV station around 20 dogs lived in the home.

A husband and wife were inside when the fire began, and paramedics took the woman to a hospital, according to WPXI. The extent of her injuries was not immediately clear.

The fire reached two alarms, according to the 911 dispatcher.

WPXI reported that the home was destroyed.
