Pittsburgh police are investigating two shootings that occurred Tuesday in Homewood, sending three people to the hospital.

A 19-year-old man was shot three times, including once in the back of the head, shortly before 2 p.m. near the intersection of Collier Street and Fuchsia Way, city Public Safety Department spokeswoman Sonya Toler said.

The man, who is from Homewood, was taken to Children's Hospital in critical condition.

The second shooting occurred at 8:31 p.m. near the intersection of Brushton Avenue and Mulford Street, Toler said.

When officers arrived, they found a 62-year-old man who had been shot. He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian in critical but stable condition, Toler said.
