Vice President Joe Biden will visit Pittsburgh on Monday to march Downtown in the 2015 Labor Day Parade.

Some speculate that Biden's appearance in the parade, sponsored by the Allegheny County Labor Council, is a test to determine how much support he might garner in a presidential campaign. Biden marched in the parade in 2009.

This year's parade begins at 10 a.m. at Liberty Avenue at 11th Street. It will continue down Grant to the Boulevard of the Allies, where it will end at the United Steelworkers building. Organizers expect 60,000 participants.

Federal, state, county and city offices and courts will be closed Monday in observance of the holiday.

• Post offices, banks, state liquor stores and driver's license and photo centers will be closed. PennDOT online services will be available.

• Port Authority of Allegheny County bus, T and incline service will operate on a holiday schedule. Bus detours will be in effect because of the Downtown parade and a 5K race on the North Shore. Port Authority's customer service line, 412-442-2000, will operate from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• There will be no trash collection Monday in Pittsburgh. Collection will be pushed back a day in the city for the rest of the week.

• Monday will be the last day that six of the city's outdoor swimming pools and many other municipal pools are open.

• The city's 10 recreation centers and 14 senior centers will be closed.

• The Boyce Park and Settlers Cabin wave pools will be open 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday is the last day of the 2015 swimming season for the pools. The North Park Swimming Pool and South Park Wave Pool are closed for the season.
