Accident snarls rush hour traffic on Route 65

The closure of Route 65 on Friday morning caused major traffic congestion in the Emsworth area, Ohio Township police Chief Norbert Micklos said.

The closure was caused by an crash at 6:20 a.m, Micklos said.

Utility crews fixed a gas leak and electrical lines.

Route 65 was closed in both directions between Memorial Drive and Camp Horne Road.

A pickup headed north on Route 65 sheared a utility pole and hit a gas meter, Micklos said. The truck driver suffered minor injuries, he said.
