The Community College of Allegheny County's Allegheny Campus.

The Community College of Allegheny County will host the second annual HBCU (Historically Black Colleges & Universities) Recruitment and Transfer Fair on Oct. 11.

The free event will be held in the Foerster Student Services Center on the Allegheny Campus from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the auditorium lobby on the second floor. The event is open to the public.

Students are encouraged to bring copies of their academic transcripts for on-site admission and transfer scholarship considerations.

The fair is being held in partnership with the Western Pennsylvania Council of HBCU Alumni.

HBCUs are institutions of higher education that were established before the Civil Rights Act of 1964 with the intention of primarily serving the African-American community due to historic racial discrimination and segregation.

More than 25 HBCUs will be at the fair including Alabama State University, Florida A&M University, Grambling State University and Jackson State University.
