The Allegheny County Health Department issued a consumer alert for Original Milano's Pizza in Oakland for various violations, including detection of mouse droppings.

The report indicated “numerous mouse droppings observed under the upstairs hand sink. Some droppings also observed along walls under counters near kitchen hand sink, along walls in basement.”

A pest company last visited the pizzeria Sept. 26, the report said.

Inspectors noted 18 violations, including five high-risk infractions, during an inspection of the Fifth Avenue restaurant Thursday, according to a county report.

Other problems included improper cooling procedures for foods and an employee observed packaging pre-made salads into to-go containers with bare hands.
