Delta to add nonstop Pittsburgh-Boston flights for business travelers
So many business travelers are flying between Pittsburgh and Boston that Delta announced it plans to add two daily nonstop flights between the cities beginning Oct. 1.
Flights will depart from Pittsburgh International Airport for Logan International Airport at 6 a.m. and 6:40 p.m.
Boston-to-Pittsburgh flights will leave at 8:10 a.m. and 7:55 p.m. each day.
The trip takes about 1 hour, 35 minutes.
A news release from the Allegheny County Airport Authority, which manages Pittsburgh's airport, said the flights “are timed for the convenience of business travelers in both cities” and that Boston is a “top destination” from Pittsburgh.
Airlines JetBlue and American already offer nonstop flights to Boston.
Delta's service will be operated by Delta Connection carrier Endeavor Air, Inc., of Minneapolis. It will use the Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft, which can accommodate up to 86 passengers.
“We know there continues to be pent up demand for nonstop air service to a number of markets,” said authority CEO Christina Cassotis. “This is another nonstop option for travelers heading to New England.”
