District Judge Hugh McGough on Thursday announced his candidacy for a seat on Allegheny County Common Pleas Court.

McGough, 58, of Shadyside made his announcement six months after performing the state’s first same-sex wedding in May.

He is one of several candidates who will vie for at least two seats on the bench in 2015. Common Pleas judges serve 10-year terms and are paid $173,271 a year.
