Drugs and guns seized during child support arrest in Brighton Heights

When Allegheny County sheriff's deputies went to arrest a man wanted for not paying child support, they found 270 stamp bags of suspected heroin and several guns, at least one of which was stolen.

Deputies were responding to a warrant Thursday morning for Durrell Calhoun, 32, of Perry, who was wanted for not appearing at the Allegheny County Family Division regarding $5,501.57 in unpaid child support, according to the Sheriff's office.

They tracked Calhoun to an apartment on Antrim Street in Brighton Heights. They arrested Calhoun inside the apartment, where they found the heroin, in bags stamped “baseball,” “Audi” and “Dancing Queen,” about 3 ounces of suspected crack cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, a digital scale, packaging materials, a stolen SKS semi-automatic carbine rifle, a Taurus .38 Special revolver, a Bryco-Jennings .380 handgun and a Glock 21 pistol with an extended clip, the Sheriff's office said.

Deputies have issued a warrant for Kristofer (Dixon) Johnson, who is believed to share the apartment with Calhoun and live in the room where the guns and drugs were found.

Johnson is wanted on two existing warrants for probation and parole violations on previous firearm and drug convictions.
