Erie man arrested in Pittsburgh for not registering as violent sexual predator
Allegheny County deputies on Monday arrested a former Erie man for failing to register as a violent sexual predator.
Kenneth McCutcheon, 53, was found in Downtown Pittsburgh.
He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail and, in a few days, will be taken back to Erie.
Last July, the Erie Police Department charged McCutcheon with failing to register as a sex offender. At the time, he was registered as homeless, which, under Megan’s Law, requires him to register every 30 days.
McCutcheon last registered on April 25, 2018, and provided an address of a homeless shelter in Erie.
But on Monday afternoon, sheriff’s deputies received information that McCutcheon was observed in Pittsburgh.
Deputies immediately started looking for him and, in the process, showed his picture to several businesses in the Downtown area. After getting a tip, McCutcheon was found at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Smithfield Street.
