Residents evacuated an apartment building along Waldorf Street in Perry North at about 3:30 a.m. Monday after a fire broke out. No injuries were reported.

No injuries were reported after a fire broke out in an apartment building in Perry North early Monday morning.

Residents evacuated the building along Waldorf Street after smelling smoke around 3:30 a.m., according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV.

A witness ran to a nearby firehouse and banged on the door to alert firefighters when he spotted the fire, the news station reported.
