Hikers discovered human skeletal remains on a wooded hillside Thursday in Pittsburgh's Mt. Washington neighborhood, police said.

About 5:10 p.m., police responded to a report of a body found near Wyoming Street and Grandview Avenue, Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Alicia George said.

Officials discovered the skeletal remains on the middle of the hill near East Sycamore Street.

A rescue team removed the remains.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office is investigating.
