A major paving project could spur worse-than-usual traffic congestion on Wildwood Road in Pittsburgh’s North Hills intermittently from next week through late September, PennDOT officials said.
Starting Monday and continuing for the next several weeks, Wildwood Road will be reduced to alternating single lanes between Babcock Boulevard in McCandless to Route 8 in Hampton from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays, PennDOT spokesman Steve Cowan said.
Additional restrictions may occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The work will include milling and paving, base repairs and guardrail and drainage upgrades.
The project is part of a $7.04 million group paving contract with contractor A. Liberoni Inc.
The work and lane restrictions could be postponed depending on weather conditions.
