Man on Allegheny County's 'most wanted' arrested in Pittsburgh
A man on the county's most-wanted list received an abrupt awakening Monday morning when deputy sheriffs entered a South Side Slopes home to arrest him and found him asleep on the couch.
Robert Pfoertner, 29, of Mt. Oliver was wanted for bond forfeiture for failing to appear at his formal arraignment in November, according to a release from the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office. The arraignment was for charges filed in September when Pfoertner allegedly stole the purse of a woman who owed him money for fixing her computer.
That incident happened when Pfoertner confronted the victim outside her Stowe home, according Chief Deputy Kevin Kraus. The woman said she did not have the money, and Pfoertner took off with her purse.
Deputies arrested Pfoertner at a home on South 18th Street in the South Side Slopes about 8 a.m. He was taken into custody without incident, Kraus said, and remains in the Allegheny County Jail.
