Authorities found an 18-year-old man from McKees Rocks shot inside a Green Tree hotel Friday night.

Green Tree Police were dispatched to the Holiday Inn Express on Greentree Road at about 10:50 p.m. Friday for reports of a shooting, according to Allegheny County Police.

Police found a man with multiple gunshot wounds inside a room on the seventh floor, where apparently there was a party. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Martell Benton-Bridgett.

Medics took him to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 11:45 p.m.

The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the trunk, according to the medical examiner’s office, which completed Benton-Bridgett’s autopsy Saturday afternoon.

Police detained and questioned several party-goers, but a motive for the shooting remained unclear, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call 412-473-1300. Callers may remain anonymous.
