Newsmaker: Dr. James Reilly
Noteworthy: Internal medicine physician Dr. James J. (Joe) Reilly received the Laureate Award from the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American College of Physicians during the chapter’s annual awards dinner this month in Hershey. The Laureate is the highest honor offered by the ACP.

Family: Wife, Kathleen Brannigan Reilly; children, Jim, Patrick, Caitlin; grandchildren, Connor, Claire, Annie
Background: Reilly joined Allegheny General Hospital as an attending physician in 1983 and now serves as vice chairman of medicine and general medicine division chief. He also teaches at Drexel University College of Medicine and Temple University School of Medicine.
Education: Graduated from Manhattan College in 1976, Hahnemann Medical College in 1980 and served his residency at the University of Pittsburgh in 1983.
