Jay Carson, senior vice president for institutional advancement at Robert Morris University in Moon, was named 2015 Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the Western Pennsylvania chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

He will be recognized Nov. 12, National Philanthropy Day, at the Heinz History Center.

Background: RMU recently raised more than $41 million, exceeding its capital campaign goal by $1 million. The university used the money to build academic buildings for its schools of business, communications and nursing. Before joining RMU in 2006, Carson held similar positions at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, the Pittsburgh Foundation and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
