Noteworthy: Glencer, a professor of legal research and writing at the Duquesne University School of Law, earned the Student Bar Association's 2016 Excellence in Teaching award. Glencer, whose courses include advanced legal writing, writing and law practice, and law and literature, said part of her focus is on teaching the importance of brevity, word choice and organization common to legal documents, prose and poetry.

Background: After law school, Glencer was a clerk for Judge Joseph F. Weis Jr. and Judge D. Michael Fisher of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She then practiced in the areas of appellate law and governmental affairs with Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Preston Gates LLP in Harrisburg before moving back to Pittsburgh and taking a job at Duquesne. She has taught there for 10 years.
