Background: Johnson is a professor of court reporting at the Community College of Allegheny County. She is working to enhance the college's program by developing a retraining course for those working in the field, in addition to working on a Spanish captioning component. CCAC's court reporting program is one of 55 across the nation approved by the National Court Reporter's Association and one of only two approved in Pennsylvania. Johnson has been a teacher for 38 years.

Education: Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Dickinson College in 1975; master's degree in education from Duquesne University in 1995.
