Background: Ingram founded the nonprofit Cultivating Resilient Youth, which provides academic mentoring, leadership and youth development programs. One of her programs, Fierce Inspiring Young Adults, focuses on increasing grade point averages for girls. She and other community leaders also organized a restorative justice circle — a student-led discussion with law enforcement — to help curb neighborhood violence.
