Teresa Miller, 40, of Harrisburg was recently appointed to the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance, part of the U.S. Department of the Treasury Department's Federal Insurance Office.

Occupation: Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner

Education: Miller earned her J.D. from Willamette University College of Law, and her bachelor’s degree from Pacific Lutheran University.

Background: Miller is one of six state regulators on the 12-member committee. Other committee members include insurance industry executives, academics, and a representative of policyholders. Members of the advisory committee serve terms of up to three years.
