Noteworthy: Jimenez received the President's Volunteer Service Award for volunteering more than 100 hours of service to the community. The award is from the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation, and each recipient receives a lapel pin and a certificate signed by President Obama.

Background: Jimenez received the Bronze Level award for 101 volunteer hours in 2014, including through programs at West Virginia University, where she is a pharmacy student. Through the school's chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists, Jimenez provided blood glucose testing at health fairs and participated in the Operation Immunization campaign. She worked with WVU's Upward Bound program, involving meeting with local high school students to encourage academic success and pursue higher education. She volunteered in the “My First Patient” program through conducting body mass index, cholesterol and blood-pressure screenings. She volunteered with Homeward Bound, an animal rescue organization.
