Thomas C. Baumann was awarded the 2014 George F. Douglas Jr. Amicus Curiae Award by the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. The award is given to a member of the organization who has written numerous amicus briefs on behalf of the group.
Noteworthy: Baumann was awarded the 2014 George F. Douglas Jr. Amicus Curiae Award, by the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, formerly the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association. for his work in representing the interests of injured workers. The award is given to a member who has written numerous friend of the court legal briefs on behalf of the organization.

Family: Wife Jill Baumann; daughter Rachel Baumann and son Josh Baumann

Occupation: Baumann joined the Abes Baumann law firm as an associate in 1987. He became a partner in 1991 and practices workers’ compensation law. Baumann sits on the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice.

Background: Baumann started his law career as a clerk in the Cambria County Court of Common Pleas before joining a private law firm in Pittsburgh. He worked for Travelers Insurance as in-house legal counsel before joining Abes Baumann.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in political science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania; law degree from the University of Pittsburgh Law School.
