Penguins players to bring Stanley Cup to Children's Hospital
The Stanley Cup is coming to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
A trio of Penguins players — Bryan Rust, Jake Guentzel and Brian Dumoulin — are scheduled to visit the Lawrenceville hospital Monday afternoon during an event with patients, family and hospital staff.
Patients and families will also have the opportunity to interact with one of the National Aviary's African penguins from 2 to 3 pm.
The Pens defeated the Western Conference Champion Nashville Predators in six games to win the Cup for the fifth time in the franchise's 50-year history.
Last month, Ian Cole brought the Cup to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor. Cole, a Penguins defenseman, is an Ann Arbor native.
The Penguins also visited Children's Hospital with the Cup a year ago after defeating the San Jose Sharks.
