A full closure of the Liberty Bridge for this weekend has been canceled due to forecasted rain, PennDOT announced Friday.

An outbound single-lane restriction is still scheduled from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.

The closures were scheduled for an $80 million Liberty Bridge rehabilitation project scheduled to be completed in August, said Steve Cowan, PennDOT spokesman. The project was originally scheduled to be finished in July.

Drivers can check conditions on major roadways at www.511PA.com.
