Rape suspect arrested after chase in Bedford Dwellings

Pittsburgh police have arrested a man they say was raping a woman as they arrived on the scene in Bedford Dwellings.

Anthony Lance Jr., 22, will be charged with rape, sexual assault, aggravated assault and robbery.

Officers were called to the 800 block of Memory Lane at about 1:42 a.m. Wednesday and saw a rape in progress, according to police.

Lance ran away, and didn’t stop when officers ordered him to, police said.

He was arrested on the 2100 block of White Hill Drive after a short foot chase.
