Pittsburgh police are investigating the circumstances of a shooting Wednesday that wounded a 21-year-old man in the North Side neighborhood of Fineview.

The victim walked into Allegheny General Hospital just before 6 p.m. with a gunshot wound to his leg, Public Safety spokeswoman Emily Schaffer said.

According to police, the victim and another man were walking on Sandusky Court when someone opened fire.

The victim, who has a license to carry a firearm, fired back but didn't hit anyone, Schaffer said.

The victim then drove to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The Group Violence Intervention Unit is investigating.
