A Swissvale man has been charged with robbing an S&T Bank on Wednesday in Monroeville.

Gregory Magee, 47, is being held on $25,000 bond in the Allegheny County Jail on charges of receiving stolen property, possessing instruments of a crime, four counts of robbery and seven counts of terroristic threats.

Magee entered the bank in the Haymaker Village shopping center on Broadway Boulevard wearing a hoodie at about noon, told workers he had a bomb and demanded money, Monroeville police Chief Doug Cole said. Magee fled after receiving an undisclosed amount of money, Cole said.

A tracking dog from the North Versailles Police Department helped find Magee with the stolen money at about 1:49 p.m., Cole said. Magee was hiding in a storm water pipe near Routes 48 and 130. No explosives were found.

Magee was attempting to make it to a rental vehicle parked by the Pitcairn ballfields along Broadway Boulevard, Cole said.

Pittsburgh FBI Special Agent Greg Heeb said Tuesday the agency was continuing its investigation to determine whether federal charges would be filed.

The bank, which was closed Tuesday after the robbery, reopened Wednesday. No one was hurt during the robbery, Cole said.

Magee's preliminary hearing is 8:30 a.m. Nov. 21 before District Judge Jeffrey L. Herbst in Monroeville.
