A teenage male was injured in a shooting in Duquesne Saturday afternoon, according to an Allegheny County police news release.

The incident happened at about 1:15 p.m. in the 600 block of Viola Avenue, near Duquesne Elementary school.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the teenage male with multiple gunshot wounds, the release said.

He was transported to a local trauma hospital.

County homicide detectives are investigating the incident. Several evidence markers were placed beside shell casings along Viola Avenue as police attempted to speak with nearby residents in the rain.

Police did not release the teen’s identity or condition.
