Point Park University's Center for Media Innovation opened Tuesday in Downtown Pittsburgh with a day's worth of panel discussions and Q&A sessions about the future of journalism.

The Trib talked on video to some of the Point Park teachers and students who will be working in the center and fostered a larger discussion about the value of local journalism on Twitter and Facebook, which we compiled in Storify.

"What we're trying to say here is that there has to be a future for journalism."
