Classes resume Thursday at Plum School District after a threat investigation by borough police.

The district announced on its website late Tuesday that it had received word around 9:15 p.m. via the TIPS line of a threat of harm to the district's schools. The district said the threat wasn't specific.

The announcement said school was canceled Wednesday “out of an abundance of caution.”

District officials said the investigation into the threat concluded that morning. Classes remained canceled Wednesday, but afternoon and evening activities were allowed to take place.

“They found no credible evidence of a threat or danger on any campus,” according to the update posted on the district's website. “We will remain vigilant in keeping our students and staff safe in the Plum Borough School District. Students are reminded to share any and all concerns with a trusted adult, or our TIPs line.”

A call to Superintendent Gail Yamnitzky and police Chief Jeff Armstrong were not immediately returned.

The announcement said school was canceled “out of an abundance of caution.”

This is the second threat the district has had this year.

In February, an Oblock Junior High School student reportedly said he wanted to “shoot up the school.”

Police also determined that threat had no merit. The student was disciplined by the district.
