Eight candidates are running for four seats on the Oakmont council at the Nov. 7 election.

Councilwoman Patricia Friday is the only incumbent on the slate of candidates featuring four Republicans and four Democrats. Council members Tom Whalen, Sophia Facaras and Tom Briney did not seek re-election.

Other candidates on the ballot for four-year terms include former Councilwoman Laurie Saxon and political newcomers Nicholas Armstrong, Dave Brankley, Carrie DelRosso, Justin Lokay, Leah Powers and Jay Weinberg.
