Two people are accused of killing a woman and then setting her body on fire in Venango County.

Polk Borough firefighters discovered a burnt body Friday when they responded to a fire on Waterworks Road.

Franklin police arrested a Westmoreland County man and Venango County woman and charged them with homicide in the death of Tausha Lee Baker, 25, of Franklin.

Amanda Cypher, 32, of Franklin, and Richard Kennedy, 28, of Vandergrift, beat Baker to death at a New Street home and then dumped the body and set it on fire, police said.

In addition to homicide, Cypher and Kennedy are charged with aggravated assault, abuse of a corpse and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

They are being held in Venango County Prison without bail.
