Flight 93 speaker series will focus on media coverage of Shanksville crash

Two journalists with first-hand experience covering the Flight 93 crash on Sept. 11, 2001, will bring a media perspective to the next entry in the Flight 93 National Memorial Speaker Series.
Tim Lambert, a Harrisburg-based radio journalist who reported from the Flight 93 crash site — and whose family owned part of the 2,200 which are now part of the memorial — will be joined by Dennis Roddy, who covered the crash for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette .
Programs will take place at noon and 2 p.m. on July 21, and at 1 p.m. on July 22. Lambert will speak both days. Roddy will speak at the Saturday sessions only.
The final entry in the series will be Aug. 18 and 19, and will feature the perspective of two air-traffic controllers, including the first person on the ground to realize that Flight 93 had been hijacked.
Now in its second year, the Flight 93 Speaker Series is a joint effort of the National Park Service and the Friends of Flight 93 National Memorial. The summer-long series is presented by Somerset Trust Company.
