Police say Gage Carrozi allegedly shot at the mother of his two children Monday, promopting three schools to go on lockdown.
Authorities arrested a man who they say tried to kill a woman in Butler Township on Monday, prompting three schools to be put on lockdown for part of the day.

Officers in Butler Township responded to a home on Hanson Avenue for a report of a shooting Monday morning, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV .

The television station reported that the alleged shooter, Gage Carrozi shot through Jessica McFarland’s door seven times, and one of those bullets struck her.

“He was trying to get in the door, he was kicking it in. I was pushing on it hoping he wouldn’t get in and then I heard shots,” McFarland told WPXI-TV.

Police said Carrozzi took off and they surrounded a home, but he was not inside. Officials ultimately found him under a bridge and took him into custody.

Carrozzi is the father of McFarland’s two children, ages 1 and 4, who police say were left home alone during the incident. He is facing a number of charges, including child endangerment.

Online court records documenting those pending charges weren’t immediately available Tuesday morning.

“Just glad me and my kids are OK and we can move forward. I’m not dead, I’m here,” McFarland told the television station.

Butler Senior High School, Butler Intermediate and the Vo-Tech schools were on lockdown for over an hour during the incidents, WPXI-TV reported.
