'Silence of the Lambs' house in Fayette County finally finds buyer

After sitting on the market for nearly a year, “The Silence of the Lambs” house in Fayette County has a buyer.

The three-story Victorian near Perryopolis sold last week for $195,000, said Dianne Wilk, a real estate agent with RE/MAX Select Realty.

It was listed for $300,000 when it was put up for sale in August.

“The Lloyds felt that the home was special and that the movie may have improved its value,” Wilk said.

The house attracted heavy interest because it was the home of fictional serial killer Jame “Buffalo Bill” Gumb in the iconic thriller “The Silence of the Lambs.”

Wilk declined to name the buyer, who he said prefers “to keep a low profile.”

“Because of ‘The Silence of the Lambs,' that's what piqued his interest, and that's how he found the home,” she said.

The previous owners, Scott and Barbara Lloyd, owned the home since 1976. They decided to downsize once they retired and have built a ranch-style home a few miles away.

The couple dropped the price several times before finding a buyer.
