Baldwin Council approves Elm Leaf Park work
Work to improve Elm Leaf Park in Baldwin Borough is expected to begin by the end of August.
Baldwin Borough Council members Tuesday night approved Stefanik's Next Generation Contracting for an amount not to exceed $772,070. Borough manager John Barrett said the bid was $80,000 less than the next lowest bid and fell within the anticipated budget amount. The borough received eight bids for the park project.
Most of the improvements will take place behind the maintenance building along Elm Leaf Drive. Upgrades include a new playground, bocce court, an improved horseshoe pit and cornhole pits.
The existing pavilion will be upgraded and another pavilion will be constructed.
Barrett said after a preconstruction meeting, the work should start in 30 days. He said the first phase of the project is expected to take three months.
