Anytime Fitness opens in Cheswick
After a two-month delay, Anytime Fitness in Cheswick opened this week to its pre-sale members for a VIP opening.
The 5,000-square-foot fitness center is the first tenant of a new building at Cheswick Plaza, 1312 Pittsburgh St.
Matt McCool and his wife, Sandra, of Buffalo Township have owned Anytime Fitness in Allegheny Township's Hyde Park Plaza and are expanding to Cheswick.
The gym's opening was delayed by weather and other issues related to getting the building ready for use, McCool said.
“That was kind of disappointing for us because we had kind of made commitments to the members that we were going to open in December,” he said. “We also want it done right. It takes time to do it right.”
The pre-sale members are people who bought their memberships in the fall during the gym's introductory membership promotion.
About 125 people got to tour the gym, pick up their T-shirt, meet the gym's staff and schedule training sessions.
An official grand opening will be held in March, but no date has been set.
McCool said they still are offering introductory rates as well as guest passes for residents who want to check out the gym. He said memberships start at $40 to $50, but prices vary year-round.
Those interested in a membership can visit anytimefitness.com and search for the Cheswick location.
