Arnold man arrested for drugs while free on bond in previous case
An Arnold man who police say sold a confidential informant cocaine is facing drug distribution charges.
Joshua Leroy “Juice” McNeil, 26, of Fifth Avenue is charged with five felony counts of possession with intent to distribute and related charges.
McNeil waived his right to a preliminary hearing before District Judge J. Gary DeComo Tuesday.
Police say McNeil, on Nov. 29, was a passenger in a car being driven by an unlicensed driver. State police stopped that car along Route 28 in South Buffalo Township and discovered McNeil was wanted on summary warrants out of Westmoreland and Allegheny counties.
When troopers placed McNeil under arrest, they found “a knotted plastic bag in his waistband consistent with an ‘eight ball’ of cocaine,” according to court documents.
State Trooper Kurtis Glasgow says in court documents that he tested the white chalky substance found in that bag and the test showed it contained cocaine.
McNeil was taken to the Armstrong County Prison and later released on $35,000 bond.
Police say they ran into McNeil again June 1, when a confidential informant told them McNeil was selling cocaine out of a house on Orr Avenue in Ford Cliff Borough.
That informant made arrangements to meet McNeil at a predetermined location, according to court documents. Police say the informant used marked bills to buy cocaine from McNeil and turned the drugs over to them for testing.
Later, police say, the informant again arranged to meet McNeil and buy cocaine. Police say they supplied the informant with marked money and he once more returned with cocaine.
On June 4, police were attempting to serve a search warrant at the Orr Avenue home where McNeil was staying when, they say, he was driven away from the house by its owner. Police stopped the car, according to court documents, and arrested McNeil.
Police say when they searched McNeil they found about $750 in cash on him. Two of the $20 bills in McNeil’s possession were marked bills, police say in court documents.
McNeil’s bond was revoked by DeComo Tuesday. He is housed in the Armstrong County Prison ahead of an as yet unscheduled formal arraignment.
