A 4-year-old girl found a deer’s severed head on a playground merry-go-round at Owens Road Park in Apollo on Friday, according to her parents’ Facebook posts.

Apollo police confirmed they had received a report about the deer and that the head has been removed from the park.

The girl’s mother, who could not be reached for comment, said on Facebook that her daughter ran up to her screaming and crying after discovering the head at the playground.

Police could not immediately provide more information.

It is unknown who placed the head in the park, or if police are investigating.
