About a dozen students participated Thursday in the GSK Science in the Summer program at the Community Library of the Allegheny Valley in Harrison. The program was put on by the Carnegie Science Center.

Students in second through sixth grade were eligbible to participate in hands-on science activities at the library.

The event also served as a kick-off event for the library’s summer reading program, which starts next week.
