A motorcycle run to benefit the Officer Brian Shaw Scholarship fund will be held in August.
According to the fund's Facebook site, the bike run will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 19.
The run honors the memory of Shaw.
A life-long Lower Burrell resident, he was a graduate of Burrell High School, Slippery Rock University and the Allegheny County Police Academy.
He started as a full-time New Kensington officer last summer.
Shaw was shot and killed during a traffic stop on Nov. 17.
The run will start at Valley High School, travel through New Kensington and neighboring communities before ending at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 894 at 894 Veterans Lane in the Natrona Heights section of Harrison.
At the VFW there will be festivities for riders and non-riders alike including with food and entertainment.
Ride proceeds will go to establish a scholarship in Shaw's name at the Allegheny County Police Academy.
