A man was critically injured in a motorcycle wreck at about 10 p.m. Wednesday in the access road leading to the Rite Aid off of Route 366 in New Kensington.
Police said the man wore a helmet. He apparently struck a curb and guardrail on the access road. The store was closed at the time.
The man was found by Westmoreland County Detective John Clark and New Kensington Detective Sgt. Sam Long when they were out on other work. They contacted police and rescue crews.
A medical helicopter landed in the parking lot of Valley Junior-Senior High School across Stevenson Boulevard and airlifted from the scene to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
No other information was immediately available.
