A man died from injuries he suffered in a motorcycle crash in New Kensington on Wednesday night, according to police Chief Bob Deringer.

Kenneth James Imm, 50, of New Kensington died at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh on Wednesday night, the chief said. Imm was airlifted following the crash.

The crash happened just before 9:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the Rite Aid off Route 366 (Stevenson Boulevard) across from Valley High School, Deringer said.

Deringer said it appears Imm came off Powers Drive, drove through the parking lots of Carol Harris Staffing and Festa Chiropractic, then continued into the Rite Aid parking lot, where he struck a curb.

Police believe Imm was speeding when the crash happened.

“There was a witness that said he was driving at a high rate of speed through the parking lot, hit the curb and went flying,” Deringer said.
