A five-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Route 28 snarled traffic for more than an hour but didn't result in injuries, according to state police.

Just before 4 p.m., police say a car traveling north on Route 28 near the Tarentum exit (Exit 14) was driving too fast for conditions and rear-ended another vehicle. The rear-ended car traveled forward and struck a third car. The fourth and fifth vehicles became involved when the driver of one car became distracted by the wreck and struck the other, police said.

Also responding were Summit Hose firefighters, Tarentum police and Eureka Fire Rescue EMS.
