Reward for Rahmael Holt, suspect in New Ken officer Shaw's death, up to $55,000

Police have identified Rahmael Sal Holt as the suspect in the shooting death of New Kensington police Officer Brian Shaw.

The reward continued to grow Monday for information leading to the arrest of Rahmael Sal Holt, the suspect in the Friday night killing of New Kensington Police Officers Brian Shaw.

The New Kensington Retired Chiefs pledged an additional $1,500, and the PA Crime Stoppers pledged $10,000, bringing the total reward to $55,000 for information leading to Holt's location and arrest, state police said Monday.

Comedian Artie Lange has also contributed money to the cause, according to his Twitter handle.

"I'm glad someone stepped up to offer 5 grand as a reward to the person who catches the scumbag who killed him!" Lange tweeted. "I will put up 5k too!"

Police believe Holt, 29, of Harrison, fled a traffic stop on Leishman Avenue Friday evening. When Shaw, 25, chased him on foot, police said Holt shot and fatally wounded the rookie officer .

The driver of the vehicle left the scene after Holt ran; police arrested Tavon Jamere Harper, 27, of New Kensington Sunday and charged him with fleeing.

The reward also included $25,000 from the FBI, $10,000 from the ATF, $5,000 from the U.S. Marshal Service and $3,500 from the citizens of New Kensington and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 23.

Holt is considered armed and dangerous, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. Police say Holt is about 5 feet-11 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call 911.
