Troopers based in the Kittanning area will be on the lookout for drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol starting Wednesday.
Roving and stationary sobriety checkpoints are planned for undisclosed locations in Allegheny, Armstrong and Butler counties during the Thanksgiving holiday, according to a news release. The checkpoints will run through Sunday.
The Troop D coverage area in Allegheny County includes the townships of Frazer Fawn, Springdale, Harrison and East Deer, as well as boroughs of Brackenridge and Tarentum. Troopers patrol Route 28 from the Armstrong County line to Pittsburgh.
