One man was injured in a two-vehicle crash just before noon Wednesday on Route 136 near Hempfield Area High School.

Firefighters cut part of the victim’s red Chevrolet Corvette off to free him, said Fort Allen Deputy Fire Chief Bob Cammarata.

“According to the reports, the other car crossed the center line — he couldn’t get out of the way,” Cammarata said.

The road was closed for about an hour after the crash. The male driver of a silver car that authorities said crossed the center line was not injured.

The driver of the Corvette was being taken by ambulance to a hospital.

“He is fine, probably has a bump on his leg and some lacerations. but he’s going to be fine so we got lucky,” Cammarata said.

Firefighters cleaned up debris from the crash. State police were investigating.
