$10K reward offered for info on whereabouts of Cassandra Gross
Family and friends of Cassandra Gross are offering $10,000 for information leading to her whereabouts.
“If money sells, then let’s talk,” said Emily Kelly, a family friend. ” I just really feel somebody will speak up.”
They hope the reward offer will help Gross’ family find the Unity woman who was last seen April 7.
Two anonymous donors are funding the reward and tips should be directed to Gross’ mother at 724-539-9553. Kathe Gross said tipsters can remain confidential.
“I just wish that whoever it is that knows would just come forward,” Kathe Gross said.
She reported Cassandra, who would have turned 52 in May, missing on April 9. Cassandra Gross’ blind and diabetic dog, Baxter, was found that day alone in the Beatty Crossroads area.
The next day, her burned red 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander was spotted by Norfolk Southern employees in a wooded area along train tracks near Twin Lakes Park.
Family and friends will be canvassing the area with 250 fliers about the reward, Kelly said.
In the days after Gross’ vehicle was found, state police were seen searching two Unity properties owned by Thomas G. Stanko, 47, who is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison on unrelated charges. One of those properties abuts Unity Cemetery on White Fence Lane, where his mother lives.
Searchers have twice been seen in the cemetery area this summer.
