Two cold weather shelters are open in Westmoreland County when the temperatures dip below 25 degrees at night.

The shelters — in Greensburg and Latrobe — will be open from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. through March 31 for those who are homeless or others whose homes aren’t adequately heated on cold nights, according to the county department of public safety.

The Welcome Home Shelter for women and families is at 218 S. Maple Ave., Greensburg and can be reached at 724-838-9133.

The Union Mission men’s shelter is at 2217 Harrison Ave., Latrobe and can be reached at 724-539-3550.

Both shelters can provide guests with food and referrals to community services.
